OH Greenhouse

The OH greenhouse is one of my favorite refuges.  Other than during the hot summer months, when the disused pots and shelves bake in the still, dry air, unused, it is a place you (and my animal friends) can find me very often.

Come mid-Autumn, we move our porch and terrace plants to the greenhouse, where many of them happily bloom all winter long.  In late winter, I start seeds for the garden, and divide plants that we will enjoy in our container gardens.

You may notice the old windows.  They were originally French doors.  I found them in a salvage yard.  Though not the most energy-efficient option, I love them, and have tried to keep them from falling apart over the many years the greenhouse has blessed us at Orchard Hill.
Love having visitors in the  greenhouse!
Little ceramic cottages made in the OH pottery studio.

I love using a combination of my handmade pots and old earthenware pots in the greenhouse.

In the autumn, before we completely fill the greenhouse with plants from the terrace and front porch, we enjoy a candelit celebration in the greenhouse.
